Finals Week Blues: Day 5 - Blue Stamping

Hello, ladies of blog world!

I am hella excited to announce that I am FINALLY finished with this semester. I still have most of my sanity, too! :vD

I'm also pretty stoked that this is the last day of 'Finals Week Blues'... I love my blue polishes and all, but I was getting really bored with it. :/ SO, for the last day of this series I decided to stamp a bit. Here's how it turned out:

This was the most difficult manicure to have ever been photographed, btw. I took/edited photo after photo and THIS was the best I could come up with. Oh well, I tried. Hopefully you get the idea. ;) The darker blue that I used is Barielle Berry Blue while the light blue foil I stamped with is Color Club Lumin-Icent. The stamp is from plate BM-222. I also didn't realize that this design  had a "center" to it until after I had already started stamping, which is why they're not completely centered. :P

Anyway, this is all for tonight and for the 'Finals Week Blues' series. I hope you enjoyed it. :D

Finals Week Blues: Day 4 - Color Club Otherworldly

Hi, lovelies.

For day four of 'Finals Week Blues' I shall present to you,
Color Club Otherworldly.

Otherworldly is a rich, bright blue with "holographic" glitter and a member of Color Club's 2011 Starry Temptress collection. I say "holographic" because it doesn't really show at all on the nail (or in the bottle, really), but it's not supposed to. This polish, along with all of its siblings from the collection, is unique in the sense that its glitter doesn't sparkle. It kind of just gets buried and then the whole thing dries matte. o_O I still think it looks pretty neat if applied well but if you want a bit more sparkle, this collection comes with an awesome iridescent opal glitter topcoat. I used two coats of Otherworldly, one coat of the glitter topcoat and topped the whole thing off with one coat of CC's 0-60 speedy topcoat WHICH, by the way, is my new, all-time favorite quick dry topcoat. :L The Starry Temptress collection was the first whole CC collection that I ever bought and I really love all six polishes + the topcoat. If you're a fan of neons and don't mind trying something a little different, I'd highly recommend them! ^_^

Do you own any polishes from this collection?

Finals Week Blues: Day 3 - Blue Gradient

Heyyy!

This shall be another short post today; I just got finished taking another final and have to head back up to campus in a bit to finish up a project and study for my LAST final tomorrow morning. Then, I'm one project + one presentation away from the end of the semester. xP

Onto brighter things, for day three of 'Finals Week Blues' I chose two blues I've never used before and did a simple sponge gradient. Here's how it turned out:

The lighter blue is OPI Fly and the darker is Color Club Trippie Hippie. I used this sponging method and I thought it worked pretty well. However, I did make the mistake of 1) not painting a base coat first, and 2) not taping off my fingers, therefore this is what it looked like pre-clean up:

Clearly, cleaning this mess up was a megabiotch. I made sure to tape off my right hand, though, and that took significantly less time. :P Then I took a shower right after and got all the rest off that way, heheh.

SO, there you have it. I hope you all enjoyed today's post!

Finals Week Blues: Day 2 - Zoya Wednesday

Good evening, all!

Just a quick post tonight in between doing school work/studying. I'm so ready for the next week to be over with. :||

For day two of 'Finals Week Blues' I chose Zoya Wednesday!

*Artificial light, with flash

Zoya describes Wednesday as a "faded dirty medium turquoise with green undertone and an opaque cream finish". This soft shade is a bit out of my "comfort zone" since I normally like bold, in-your-face colors but I love it nonetheless. ^_^ However, I got bored with just the solid color (naturally), and added some silver bullions that I got from Sally's. I thought about doing all of my nails this way buuut it took me like 15 minutes just to do that ONE nail, being my first time, so I decided an accent nail would suffice. :P

If you weren't already aware, this fantastic idea came from Sammy at The Nailasaurus. She did it for day 25 of her 31 Day challenge, Inspired by Fashion. I've always thought it was a really awesome look and have been meaning to try it for ages. I really like how it turned out. :)

Well, what do you guys think?!

Finals Week Blues: Day 1 - HITS Apolo

Hello, hello!

First of all, I would like to apologize for my week long absence. My parents went away for their 30th anniversary and took my camera. >.< Okayyy, it's THEIR camera but I use it a lot more than them! Humph. Anyway, I hope you all will forgive me; I'll try not to do it again. :angel

In other news, school is very slowly creeping to an end for the semester and as happy as that makes me, what stands in my way of being finished highly depresses me. :~ Therefore, I have decided to dedicate every blog post until next Thursday to shades of blue. This also gives me an excuse to use my poor, neglected blue polishes. :P

So, here we go.
For day one I chose HITS Apolo!

After a couple days of wear, thanks to the camera stealers. ;)

So I know you guys have already seen Apolo along with the rest of the No Olimpo Collection a bajillion times, but this was honestly (and surprisingly) the first time I picked mine up since I bought it months ago. :o Apolo is a bright marine blue holo, plain and simple. I really love this one and, unlike its brothers and sisters that I've tried so far, it applied flawlessly. No gloopiness or wonky brush here!

So yay, that's all I have for today. I hope everyone is having a good week so far!
