Jamberry Nail Shields Review!

HEYYY.

Okay, so I've seen these Jamberry Nail Shields everywhere and have been kind of wanting to try them out, but never got around to doing so. Not too long ago, a consultant contacted me asking if I'd like to try out and review them and of course I obliged. Why not?

So here's what I came up with. I used butter LONDON Pillar Box Red as a base, the Jamberry Nail Shield is obviously what's on my pointer finger, and I used some silver "glequins", as Sam at The Nailasaurus likes to call them, from the Born Pretty Store. I liked the overall look of this manicure, but not so much the nail shield itself. :o

First of all, the shield that they gave me didn't fit ANY of my nails. You can't really tell in this photo, but it's entirely too small for the nail. It was like this for all of my nails, excluding my pinky, in which case it was much too large. >.< If I were to purchase a full sheet, I'm sure that would include enough sizes so that all of my nails would be properly covered, but the one they sent me just wasn't cutting it and it didn't have much of a stretch to it, either.

You can also see where it tore a bit at the tip of my nail. This could be all thanks to "user error", but I thought it was really difficult to file/cut off at the end. Then it almost immediately started lifting after I was finished with the whole thing, which subsequently made me peel it off just a couple hours later.

SO ANYWAY,
I may or may not purchase a sheet and give it another try here soon. They have a ton of really pretty and neat designs to choose from on their website for $15. If I attempt them again, I'll be sure to report back! :tup

What do you ladies think about this look?
Have you ever tried Jamberry Nails and if so, how was your experience?
Thanks for reading, loves!

  4. I just tried these. Absolutely dreadful. Promise to stay on at least a week, but cutting, filing, trimming, etc. The process took me an hour and a half to do and they do not fit at all. Even with a full sheet. Because the ends do not easily file or cut, they end up looking ragged after a couple of days. I tried these out to save money on manicures, but it's not worth the time and nuisance. I would rather have naked nails *gasp*

  5. I am a Jamberry consultant, and just wanted to let you know... Jamberry improved their durable material, and the adhesive. They are beyond amazing! They are a brand new company and they listened to these kind of reviews and improved the product. Pretty awesome! I'm not sure if I can publish me e-mail here... but send me a quick e-mail and I'll send you a half-sheet to try the new formula! Anyone else feel free to e-mail me as well, and I will send you a sample card to try- I know that you will be thrilled! jensjamberry@gmail.com ;-)

  6. Not only do you have to fight to get them on (they are heat activated so you have to fool around with a source of heat when others are adhesive based) but they tear up your nail beds no matter how "properly" they are removed. It's taken about 3 months and my nails are finally starting to grow back in. They are just a hassle.

  8. Hate them :-(
I thought they would be a great alternative to acrylics or gels but they are hard to put on, time consuming to trim and file properly, AND they began lifting within 2 hours. By mid afternoon on the first day, I ripped them all off and said never again. Who on earth thinks these things are a worthwhile product??

  9. I cannot wear nail polish due to my body chemistry being off after 28 years as a diabetic, but Jamberry Nails are amazing for me!! They stay on wonderfully even after I abuse them at work as a merchandiser! I am in the process of becoming a consultant because I am so excited to be able to do something with my nails for the first time in my life! I'd love to troubleshoot with anyone who is having a problem with them, or send some new samples if anyone wants them! Please contact me by e-mail at nejjiejams@gmail.com. Thanks for your blog!

  10. I disagree entirely. Jamberry Nails are easy. My toddler daughter can even figure them out and apply them with me helping with scissors and hair dryer of course but very simple. I have had mine on for 3 weeks even! My only issue was my nails grow much faster than normal and at 3 weeks, my nails outgrew them but stayed on perfectly each and every time. I do a lot of out door activities as well.. I say try them again as I at least like them 100% better than nail polish.

  11. I love them! I am not a consultant or anything either. I am not at all one to go to the salon to get my nails done and I have to play piano a lot so these work best for me. With two toddlers these are much easier than polish. They usually stay on 2 weeks for me, and it's only because I like to change the color every two weeks. There is a learning curve, so once you get the hang of it, most people really like them!

  12. I have bought them for my daughters and fiancee and they all loved them so much I decided to become a consultant! I have seen both sides! No product out there is perfect but I have seen way more positive response to them than negative! They are very versatile and have lots of cool designs to choose from! They are very affordable and a good opportunity ti make some side money if you are into that!

  13. I tried a sample yesterday at a vendor show I attended. Never heard of the company before. I love doing designs on my nails (takes forever) so I had to try it. It was quick and easy to apply, hasn't peeled off my nail even after cleaning the house, and knitting. The size I tried didn't fit completely on my nail but can hardly tell. Not like anyone is going to closely examine my nails anyway - that'd be creepy. I'm totally happy with this product!
