Zoya Newbie #2!

Happy Monday, ladies!

I hope everyone has had a good start to their week thus far! Mine was kicked off with the discovery of an engorged tick on my arm. /vomit. I know as a future geologist I'm supposed to enjoy being outdoors and what not, but I. do. not. like. bugs. Now my insect anxiety is raging and I've been itchy all day. :c

Sooo, onto better things. :P I'm continuing my Zoya newbie theme today by showing another one that I purchased during their latest promo. I'm sure most of you have seen this one swatched already, but I love it so much I couldn't NOT post it. ;)

This is two coats of Zoya Maisie over Zoya Raven, all taken outside in direct sunlight:
Wittle nubz. Had to cut them down for my Paleontology trip. :P

Uh-mazing
This polish makes me want to sing really happy songs. :tone
Zoya describes Maisie as a "sheer turquoise blue base with reflective Mylar flakes that shift from green to blue" and it's a part of the Fleck Effect collection. Weeee, I love it!

Do you love this one as much as I do?

Zoya + Lacquistry = LOVE

Good evening, all!

Quick post tonight - I just got back from a weekend trip for my Paleontology class and am exhausted. xP So here's that swatch + combo I promised in my last post!

Behold, Zoya Lola!
*Artificial light, flash
Zoya describes Lola as an "ultra-bright warm fuchsia-pink base with strong blue-violet duochrome shimmer". What a mouthful. This photo shows four coats and even then there's still a faint VNL. This is a super bright, fun, gorgeous pink and one of my favorite colors ever. ^_^

To make it even better, I added one of my other newbies! Lacquistry Silver Shards
*Natural light, shade
I reeeally love Silver Shards and got so many compliments on it. It for real looks like I sprinkled shards of glass on my nails and I think it's awesome! ;) I'd recommend using a topcoat with this one; otherwise the pointy parts of the shards will lift a bit and that becomes a bit annoying. :P For some more info about Lacquistry, please visit my previous blog post.

What do you ladies think of these?!
Thanks for reading, as always. :)

Nail mail + new hair!

Hello, dear readers!
Tonight's post is pretty exciting in my opinion. I have seven new babies + my new hair to show you all!

First up,
my new Zoya polishes that I purchased in their 'buy three get three free' (say that five times fast) promo last week. Zoyas for $4 a piece, hellz yeah! 8)

L-R: Lola, Trixie, Skye
L-R: Yara, Maisie, Edyta
I've wanted Trixie for the longest time and I've been so adamant about buying only colors that I didn't have anything like, so I decided to go back to my comfort zone and treat myself with Lola, as well. As for the others, I tried to choose my colors wisely and go for some that I wouldn't normally buy.
I was a little apprehensive about choosing Skye because obviously not all nude tones look good on everyone and I don't have ANY, so I basically took a stab in the dark. I must say that I am very, very pleased with my decision. :)
I'm definitely most excited about using Edyta. I MEAN JUST LOOK AT IT. It's like space in a bottle! :robot I love me some space, too.

Moving along.
The other package I received was from Jenna at Lacquistry

I'm not sure why the bottle says that this is Silver Holo Shredded because I ordered Silver Shards, and this  is very different from the swatches I've seen of Silver Holo Shredded. :P Anyway, Jenna describes Silver Shards as "Silver pieces suspended in a clear base. Some pieces in this one are a bit bigger than the Shredded, so this falls into the Shards Family."
I actually bought this last month and had paypal address issues/forgot about it (doh!) so once Jenna ever so graciously got things taken care of for me, I got it in like two days or something crazy like that. Jenna's polishes are $8.75 + $3 US shipping right now and you can purchase them at her Etsy shop right here. This one is currently not for sale. I did a combo with this bad boy tonight and I'm in love, for real. But that's for next time's post. ;)

And here's my hair (before and after), just for kicks. Please excuse the poor cellphone quality.
Before: straight bangs + dark to light brown ombré

After: (shade) switched back to side bangs + daaark brown with one bright red panel on the right side.
Sunlight. You can see the contrast between the two colors a little better in this one.
I am a HUGE fan of having in-your-face, bright red hair, so I'm ecstatic to have it back in my life. I really like it on the one side and how it only goes through part of my bangs/around my face, too. :L I tried to get a better picture in the sun with my actual camera but the wind was extremely angry today, so I'll try again tomorrow. :D

So how do you like my new pretties/hair?!
Did you participate in the Zoya promo? If so, which polishes did you get?
Thanks for reading, loves! <3

Two Posts In One Day, You Say?

Hello, loves!

I'm super excited about tonight's post, for I got some awesome nail mail earlier! I was going to wait until tomorrow to post it, but I just couldn't wait. ;)

So, after Sarah from Chalkboard Nails posted her swatch of The Hungry Asian's Sneeze Breeze, I decided I needed (yes, needed) it immediately. SO I GOT IT. And I am in love.

Please click for up close loveliness. :)

Sneeze Breeze is described as "a matte blue and black fine glitter in a clear base. With topcoat, it does have a shiny overall finish but the glitter itself does not sparkle."

ISN'T IT AMAZING? It's so simple, but so... not? It looks really fascinating on the nails. I seem to be developing a slight obsession for indie polishes lately, especially the couple matte glitters that are popping up. The formula on this was manageable and I used three coats in my photos. I also used two coats of SV considering it's kind of a topcoat eater, but it probably could have used one more coat because it still feels a bit textured. Regardless, this polish is perfection and definitely one of my new favorites. ^_^

If you wish to purchase Sneeze Breeze you can find it at The Hungry Asian's Etsy Shop. It retails for $8.50 + $3.50 shipping by itself. SB is 3-free and cruelty free and I would recommend it to anyone. Kae also has some other really awesome polishes for sale in her shop!

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading. :e

Mystery Polish + Fairy Dust!

Hey, folks!

I just wanted to say thanks to those who tried to help me figure out what this polish was. I called upon the famous Traci from The TraceFace Philes to see if she knew what it could be since she's got over 1,600 polishes in her collection (drool). Turns out she couldn't recognize it and came to the conclusion that it's likely to be a fake. o_O I shall not shun this baby, though, for it's still a really pretty polish and I like it a lot regardless. Thank you, Traci, for all your help! :D

With that said, I wasn't quite ready to take it off so of course I added something to it, and my god was I glad that I did. While in Knoxville with my boyfriend last week, he bought me China Glaze Fairy Dust. I've been wanting this little gem for quite a while and was so happy he offered to buy it for me. :)

Fairy Dust is composed of tiny holographic glitter in a clear base. I think it's best used as a topcoat but I don't see why you couldn't use it by itself. :P I got mine from Sally Beauty Supply for $6.

SO LOVELY.

Here it is over my mysterious OPI polish!

*Artificial light, with flash. One coat. :L
*Artificial light, with flash; blurred to show holo parts. One coat.

I am in looove, dude. I really think it looks amazing over the darker polish.
What do you ladies think?!

I Need Your Help!

LADIES!
I need your help!

Last week I was given an OPI polish with no name and I need you guys to help me figure out its identity, please! Otherwise it'll bother me for an eternity. >.<

Here are some photos:

It's a reeeally dark gunmetal gray shimmer with  what looks like sporadic holographic particles.
*Artificial light with flash. You can see the holo parts here.
I'm guessing this no name (left) is an older polish since its brush is smaller than the new brush (right)?
*Artificial light with flash; nail wheel.
*Natural light, blurred to show holo parts.
*Natural light. The holo parts aren't as noticeable on the nail. If you click on the photo you can see them a little better.

If you have any idea what this polish is pleeease let me know! I'd love for it to have the correct name. :P Thanks so much, girls!

Sooki + Hello Kitty

Hello, lovies!

I'm aware that, once again, I've slacked hardcore in the blogging department BUT it's been my spring break and I spent it out of town with the boyfriend, sooo I hope that you all will forgive me. :)

Tonight I'm going to show y'all the red polish that I got for free in Zoya's Valentine's Day promo and then a little somethin' somethin' that I did with it! I didn't know how I was ever going to make a decision because Zoya has. so. many. reds to choose from, so I pretty much chose this one because of the name. All of you True Blood fans will like this one. ;)

Of course I'm referring to Zoya Sooki! :e

Please excuse my dreadful "cleanup".

Zoya describes Sooki as a "bright, clean, crisp cool cherry red creme with a subtle jelly finish". I had ONE red creme before this one and it was getting old and what not so I'm super happy to have chosen this one. It's bright and sexy and I love it! :L

I don't know if I've ever really spoken about it on here, but I have a very large obsession with Hello Kitty. It's pretty much what I'm known for among all my friends (that plus being obsessed with nail polish and Lady Gaga, of course). :P ANYWAY I ordered my KD1 plate off of ebay not too long ago and thought it was a good time to use it, so here's what was produced!

Not all of the HK's are perfect but I really love how this turned out, regardless. ^_^  Thanks for reading and have a good night, everyone!

Mystical Snakeskin & Bloglovin

Good morning, dear followers!

So sorry for being such a stranger during the past week or so; I've been a tad bit busier than usual due to picking up two doubles and what not. Plus I just really enjoyed my water marble. :P WHICH, btw, was indestructible the entire week I wore it. :b I was super impressed because working two 12 hour days in a row would typically destroy it, but it didn't even chip!

So, today I have another first time mani: snakeskin! :e But first, I shall show you one of the Zoya polishes that I got during their Valentine's promo. I present to you, Zoya Mira:

I was really excited about this because I realized I have zero purple cremes in my collection. o_O Crazy, I know. It's exactly what I was looking for, though, so yay! Zoya describes Mira as a "blue toned medium purple with dusty lavender tones and an opaque creme finish." PERFECTO.

This is the bottle shot of Mira on Zoya's website, so you can see it's a little lighter and more purple/less blue in real life than in my photos. >.<
Nail Polish: Zoya Nail Polish in Mira ZP556
And here is my snakeskin! ^_^

In addition to Mira, I used OPI Silver Sparkler and OPI Fly with plate BM-215. I didn't like it very much at first, but I quite like it now. :) It doesn't look like any snake I've ever seen, but OH WELL. I believe I'll definitely experiment with this stamp again using different colors. Do you ladies like it?

Also, as we all know, they're taking away GFC so GaGa for Nails is now on Bloglovin! You may now click my button to follow me over to the left. ;)
