(Anti?) Valentine's Ruffian

Good morning, all!

Two days ago I was majorly inspired by Kayla Shevonne's Valentine's Ruffian post and immediately wanted to try something similar to it. This was my first attempt at a Ruffian manicure and I have to say I am very pleased with myself. :P If you take a look at Kayla's blog post that I linked you'll see that while hers are happy and bright and full of love, mine kind of turned out a little dark and gothic looking? Hence the title of today's post. ;)

Behold! My first ever Ruffian:

You may also notice that I left out the cutesy little hearts she added to her ring finger. As I'm aware that this is the main feature that pulls the whole "Valentine's" look together, I just couldn't bear the thought of messing this up trying to add hearts to mine. >.< I really want to, though, and I think I may attempt it after getting to enjoy this without the hearts for a minute.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this particular look is smokin'. :fire The black is Zoya Raven mattified with Essie Matte About You and the red is OPI Wocka Wocka! which, by the way, is probably my all time favorite red. I only have it in a mini, though, so using it for this mani basically used it all up. :c I suppose it's time for a full size bottle, then! :e

So what do you ladies think of the Ruffian look? If I get enough courage to try the hearts and I succeed, I'll be sure to keep you posted. ;)  Have a wonderful day, everyone!
